Poker is a card game in which players wager against each other by placing chips into the pot. Each player is dealt two cards which are either discarded or used to form the basis of their hand. Once the betting round is over, the highest hand wins the pot. The game is played from a standard 52-card deck, with the four suits (spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs).
